Bank Rakyat Indonesia Picks ExtraHop Reveal(x) to Protect Banking Operations
PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia, the country's largest bank, has chosen ExtraHop Reveal(x) network detection and response to secure its critical operations and data.
PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), Indonesia's largest bank, has selected ExtraHop's Reveal(x) network detection and response (NDR) product to protect its critical banking operations and the data of its expanding customer base. ExtraHop describes itself as the leader in cloud-native NDR.
BRI serves individuals and organisations throughout Indonesia, with more than 120 million deposit customers and over 13 million borrowers ranging from private individuals to large institutions. For the bank's IT team, safeguarding customers' personal data carries the same top priority as safeguarding their money.
Muharto, senior vice president for information security at BRI, said the bank chose Reveal(x) because it expects the product to advance its aim of running a secure environment based on industry standards and advanced technology, one that strengthens public trust and supports business goals. He said its wide range of features, straightforward interface and extensive detection and monitoring give his team an advantage against even highly advanced threats.
Reveal(x) combines AI and behavioural analytics with line-rate decryption of the protocols attackers exploit most often. According to ExtraHop, this gives full east-west visibility, real-time detection of threats inside the perimeter and intelligent response at scale, helping organisations keep ahead of advanced threats such as supply chain attacks, zero-day exploits and APTs.
By identifying unwanted services and activity, the product is expected to help BRI's IT team spot threats and decide more easily which ones need immediate attention. Customisable dashboards with managed access will also make it simpler for the security team to give senior management current reports.
