Privacy Policy

What Cybersecurity ASEAN processes when you read the site or subscribe to the weekly email, who handles it for us, and how to contact us about your data.

Cybersecurity ASEAN is a news site. You can read everything on it without an account. The only personal data we ask for is an email address, and only if you choose to subscribe to the weekly email.

What reaching the site involves

Every request for a page passes through servers that see the technical details of that request: your IP address, the address of the page, the time, the browser's user agent string and the page you came from. These details are used to serve the page, to protect the site against abuse and to find errors. We don't combine them into a profile of any reader.

The site is served through Cloudflare, which carries and protects the traffic on our behalf and processes those request details to do so. When Cloudflare needs to tell a person from an automated attack, it may set a cookie that is strictly necessary for that check. How Cloudflare handles this data is described in its own privacy policy.

What the site doesn't do

There are no analytics tools, advertising tags, tracking pixels, embedded social media widgets or third-party scripts on Cybersecurity ASEAN. The site sets no cookies of its own and stores nothing in your browser. The search box runs in your browser against an index published with the site, so what you search for isn't sent to us.

We don't sell, rent or trade personal information.

The weekly email

If you subscribe, we store your email address, the date and the page you subscribed from on our own server, and send you a welcome email straight away. After that we use the address only to send the weekly email.

The emails are delivered by Postmark, an email delivery service that receives your address only to send them and to record bounces and unsubscribes. Links in the emails go straight to this site, not through a tracking service. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link; to have your address deleted from our server as well, write to [email protected].

When you write to us

If you email us, we receive your address and whatever your message contains, and we use them only to answer you. The mailbox is hosted by Migadu, an email provider that stores the messages on our behalf. Correspondence is kept for as long as it's needed to deal with the matter and is then deleted.

Links to other sites

Articles mention companies, products and organisations, and many pages link to their sources elsewhere. Other websites have their own privacy practices, which this policy doesn't cover.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how it's used. Apart from the request details described above, what we hold is limited to emails you have sent us and your subscription. Write to [email protected] and we'll reply.

Changes

If what the site does with data changes, this page will change with it, and the date below will show when. Last updated: 29 October 2026.
