Fore Coffee Breach: Up to 5.7 Million Indonesian Customer Accounts Exposed
Indonesian chain Fore Coffee says an outsider got into its customer-data platform. Names, contacts, birth dates, addresses, hashed PINs and order history may be exposed; payment data was not.
Indonesian coffee chain Fore Coffee says an unauthorised party accessed its customer-data platform, exposing data from up to 5.7 million customer accounts. The listed company disclosed the incident to the Indonesia Stock Exchange on 28 October.
What may have been taken
The company says the exposed fields may include name, email, phone number, date of birth, gender, address, a hashed PIN and purchase history. Fore says payment data sits on a separate platform and wasn't touched, and no national ID numbers (NIK) or ID-card photos were exposed.
What the company has done
Fore says it cut off the access within 24 hours of detecting it, brought in a digital forensics firm and reported the incident to Komdigi, the communications and digital ministry. Chief executive Vico Lomar apologised and said no misuse of the data had been found so far.
The company asks customers to change their app PIN.
